Buddy has had quite the life, and if he could talk to us, I’m sure he would have many stories to tell. Unfortunately, we know that one story, in particular, is extremely sad!
Buddy was raised in Alabama where often animals are treated differently than they are here. Buddy's family decided that he was getting old and they really had no use for him anymore...so they took him to the vet and told them to "put him to sleep'! Can you believe that? Buddy spent his entire life being loyal to a family that wanted to throw his life away!

The vet chose to find rescue for him and he is now in Illinois looking to adopt a REAL family that will love him for the rest of his life.
Buddy loves people and animals of all kinds! He especially loves children! Buddy loves to cuddle with people and get as much attention as he can, especially rubs on his belly! Buddy’s energy level is low, but he does enjoy a good game of fetch from time to time! Buddy also enjoys short walks and does very nicely on a leash.

Since Buddy loves being around people so much, he would like to find a home where someone is home part of the day to keep him company, he especially seems at ease when his people are around. He is also housebroken and crate trained.
