Your Guide To Holiday Homecoming In St. Charles

The festivities will get underway Friday. Here's what you need to know.

ST. CHARLES, IL — St. Charles Holiday Homecoming festivities will get underway later this week.

The two-day festival kicks off Friday and continues through Saturday with a variety of activities planned, a lighting of the lights ceremony, Santa visits and the Electric Christmas Parade. Throughout the weekend, festival visitors can walk the holiday tree trail where there will be 50 decorated trees on display along 1st Street and the Waterfront walkway.

Local community groups decorate the trees and those stopping out can vote for their favorites.

Here is a look at the schedule of events for this year's festival:

Friday, Nov. 26

  • 1 to 4 p.m.: Santa's House visits
  • 6 p.m.: Lighting of the Lights Ceremony on the 1st Street Plaza
  • 7 p.m.: Visit with Santa on the 1st Street Plaza after the lighting of the lights ceremony

Saturday, Nov. 27

  • 9 a.m.: Doors open at the Arcade Theatre for a free holiday movie, Frozen II. The movie starts at 10 a.m.
  • 1 to 4 p.m.: Santa's House visits
  • 5:30 p.m.: The Electric Christmas Parade steps off on Main Street. The parade includes high school bands, 60 parade floats and Santa Claus.
