Your Guide to St. Charles Holiday Homecoming

The town's popular two-day Holiday Homecoming event includes the annual Electric Christmas Parade.

ST. CHARLES, IL – The holiday season will officially get underway in St. Charles this weekend. The town's popular two-day Holiday Homecoming event will kick off Friday and continue through Saturday. Here is a look at this year's schedule of events:

Friday, November 23

  • Lighting of the Lights on First Street Plaza takes place at 5 p.m. and includes carols and an appearance by Santa. Mayor Ray Rogina will flip the switch to turn on the holiday lights all on 1st Street Plaza.

Saturday, Nov. 24

  • There will be a free showing of Home Alone and a Christmas carol sing-a-long at the Arcada Theater. Doors open at 9 a.m. Showtime is 10 a.m.
  • Free horse-drawn sleigh rides from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on 1st Street
  • Santa’s house on 1st Street Plaza opens for the season. His doors are open Saturday and Sunday from 1 to 4 p.m. starting on Nov. 25 and continuing through Dec. 23.
  • Live Holiday window displays along Main Street and 1st Street from 1 to 5 p.m. Here is a look at participating live holiday window display shops.
  • The Electric Christmas Parade finishes the day at 5:30pm on Main Street between 6th Street and 4th Avenue.

All Holiday Homecoming events and activities are free of charge.
