12U Vipers Win 2nd Place in Omaha Slumpbuster
The Lincoln Way Vipers 12U seize victory thanks to late double, drop Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha 8-7
The 12U Lincoln-Way Vipers Travel Baseball team followed in the footsteps of so many successful Viper teams this year. They won 2nd place while in Omaha, during the Omaha Slumpbuster. Coach Bob Hiemer and his team competed against some of the most talented teams throughout the US to win 2nd Place hosted by Triple Crown Sports.
The Lincoln Way Vipers 12U and Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha passed the lead back and forth five times on Sunday at Omaha, but in the end the Lincoln Way Vipers 12U pulled out an 8-7 win in six innings over Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha.
The Lincoln Way Vipers 12U pulled out the win thanks to a strong second inning. The Lincoln Way Vipers 12U went up for good on a three-run double by Kevin Wandick off Chase, scoring Mike Florentine, Ben Ritter and Nolan Radecky.

The Lincoln Way Vipers 12U would not relinquish the lead as Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha was unable to weather a three-run second inning deficit.
Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha scored on an RBI single by Brendan and an RBI single by Brady in the third inning and a bases loaded walk in the sixth inning. Despite its efforts, Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha couldn’t finish the comeback.

Payton Orth, Kevin and Danny Hiemer helped lead the Lincoln Way Vipers 12U. They combined for five hits and four RBIs.
In the top of the first, Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha’s rally started when Lucas doubled. A single by Isaac then moved Lucas from second to third.
It didn’t take long for the Lincoln Way Vipers 12U to respond as they scored one run of their own in the first. The Lincoln Way Vipers 12U scored on.
The second spelled defeat for Chanhassen Storm Blue - Omaha, as the Lincoln Way Vipers 12U grabbed the lead for good. More runners rounded the bases on two singles.

The Lincoln Way Vipers organization has led the area for sanctioned event championships in most major affiliations such as USSSA, CABA, GMB, Game Day USA and others. The Lincoln Way Vipers are looking to expand at age levels 9U, 10U, 13U, 15U and 16U in 2016 and tryouts begin July 21th. The Lincoln Way Viper program for college recruitment and development will expand to 15U and 16U in 2016.

Player development is very important to us and we will continue to advance our training by using the best training facility and instructors around. The Vipers train at the Bo Jackson Dome and will continue to do so in the future. Part of our training program includes our Vipers being trained by John Cangelosi and Cangelosi Baseball in addition to our training program during our winter/spring training.

- professional training facility
- core, speed, and agility training
- classroom training
- video analysis
- college recruiting
