A Home Sweet Homecoming for the Tinley Park Bulldogs

Tinley Park Bulldog Football and Cheer celebrated its 50th Homecoming with a victory and family-focused festivities.

When a group of parents decided to organize a football team back in 1961, they wanted to give their kids an opportunity to play the game they loved.

Little did they know that their efforts would develop into Tinley Park’s largest and oldest athletic organization—the Tinley Park Bulldogs.

“The organization has lasted so long because it’s built on the work and dedication of volunteers, many of whom were former Bulldogs,” said Scott Lefko, the team's athletic director.

Many Bulldogs families have been with the organization for two or three generations, said Andy Bednarczyk, a second generation Bulldog himself, who married a former Bulldog cheerleader.

“For many of us it’s a second home,” he said.
