Aero Rubber Company in Tinley Park Bands Together for Children and Teens Fighting Cancer

Aero Rubber Company’s management and staff are committed to seek trust and respect, underscore teamwork, continually improve, celebrate employees, exceed customer expectations, excel in sales/service, deliver quality and support the community. That is exactly what the company and employees did when they hosted a holiday toy drive and collected 100’s of toys to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation.
When asked about the motivation behind the holiday toy drive, Aero Rubber Company Maintenance employee James Gehrk and Production line employee Brian Laidlaw both said, “It was easy, all of the employees saw the collection box and they wanted to donate.”
Treasure Chest Foundation CEO and Founder Colleen Kisel recognizes and appreciates the dedication shown by Aero Rubber Company. “I am amazed what a business can do for a charity like ours,” said Ms. Kisel. “We are thankful for their support that will certainly provide joy to young people battling cancer.”

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 14,800 young cancer patients in 63 cancer treatment centers in 21 states across the nation and in the District of Columbia. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 28th anniversary of remission from the disease in March of 2021.
