TINLEY PARK, IL — Crisis Center for South Suburbia, a non-profit community organization that provides emergency shelter and other essential services for individuals and families victimized by domestic violence, announced Thursday that Executive Director Pam Kostecki will be moving on from her role after 10 years of service. Over the past decade, she has guided the organization through meaningful growth, expanding services and building strong community partnerships.
"Serving survivors and working with the amazing, dedicated team at the Crisis Center for South Suburbia has been the highlight of my career," said Kostecki. "I am deeply proud of all that has been accomplished over the last decade. Supported by our passionate volunteers and guided by a committed board, I know the future for CCSS is strong.”
Under Kostecki’s leadership, the Crisis Center has expanded shelter capacity from 12 households (35 beds) to 20 households (54 beds), tripled the organization’s operating budget, and more than doubled government funding through strong stewardship and fiscal oversight. Kostecki successfully navigated the organization through Covid-19 and the rebuilding of volunteer engagement to pre-pandemic levels.
The Crisis Center also operates two Neat Repeats resale stores. Under Kostecki the resale store operations have grown from 3,000 to over 8,000 square feet, generating more than $2 million in annual gross revenue.
"The Board of Directors is deeply grateful for Pam’s incredible service and dedication," said Derrick Lott, Board President of the Crisis Center for South Suburbia. "She leaves the organization in a steady position, and we are committed to finding a visionary leader to build upon this foundation".
The Board has formed a search committee and has partnered with Kittleman & Associates, a national search firm focused on nonprofit CEO recruitment, to exclusively lead the search for the next Chief Executive Officer. During the transition period, the current leadership team will ensure continued operational stability.
