TINLEY PARK, IL — The Village of Tinley Park has switched its community notification system, and residents will need to register for the new one, officials said.
The Village has moved to Everbridge as its new emergency alert system. The Village had previously contracted with CodeRED for similar services.
Residents and businesses now have to register with the new provider to begin receiving alerts during emergencies and other critical events.
Cook County Emergency Management and Regional Security has a subscription with Everbridge and is funding and providing the notification system at no cost to the village, officials said.
Signup can be completed online. Residents and businesses are encouraged to sign up at TinleyPark.org/Everbridge to start receiving alerts. The service will also include non-emergency messaging. Users can customize the notifications they receive and choose to have information delivered to their preferred devices, including cell phone, SMS, home landline, email, and more.
