T-Bolts Achieve National German Honors

Eleven Victor J. Andrew High School students received recognition for their accomplishments on the National German Exam, Level 1 Honor Roll. The results on this national exam showcase both the dedication and growing language proficiency of the 27 students who tested.

Freshman Declan Hurley earned the gold medal for outstanding performance, while sophomore Dominic Russo secured the silver medal. Bronze medals were awarded to freshmen Savannah Aardsma, Elliot Radtke, and Tyler Pluhar. An additional six achievement awards were earned, rounding out a strong showing for the group.

“These students’ achievements reflect months of study, classroom engagement, and a developing command of the German language. These scores highlight both individual effort and the strength of our program overall, as students continue building confidence and communication skills in German. We can’t wait to see how much these students will accomplish over the next few years in the German program,” said German Teacher, World Languages Department, Erika Lupacchino.

Every year, the German Department at VJA administers the National German Exam to students interested in taking it. The NGE is administered to more than 15,000 schools across the country and is in its 65th year. The exam measures the performance of students in reading and listening, and rewards students through an extensive regional and national prize program.
