TINLEY PARK, IL — One person was killed in a two-vehicle crash that closed a stretch of Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park Friday night, police confirmed Saturday. A second person is in critical condition, authorities said.
The crash involving a truck and a motorcycle happened at 163rd and Harlem Avenue around 9 p.m., police said Friday night. The driver of the motorcycle died, and their passenger was critically injured, police said.
The identity of the person killed has not yet been released by the Cook County Medical Examiner's Office. Records show an autopsy is pending.
The crash shut down Harlem Avenue from 167th to 159th streets for several hours while accident reconstruction took place. The road reopened just after 1 a.m.
Tinley Park Police Chief Thomas Tilton said more information will be released soon.
