More Than 3,000 Without Power, Outage Closes Tinley Park Village Hall: Officials

Heavy damage reported throughout Tinley Park, Village Manager Pat Carr said. Village Hall phone lines open, taking residents' calls.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park was hit hard by storms in the area, with power knocked out at Village Hall and for thousands of residents, Village Manager Pat Carr told Patch.

Heavy damage is reported throughout the village as heavy rains and hail pelted down, and wind gusts swept through, Carr said. Phone lines are open and answering residents' calls.

More than 3,000 customers are without power in Tinley Park as of 2:15 p.m., as well, down from 4,000 immediately following the storms, according to the ComEd outage map.

Village Hall, 16250 Oak Park Ave., is closed for the remainder of Monday afternoon, officials said.

Severe weather and possibly tornadoes were forecasted for the area Monday afternoon, including Orland Park, Tinley Park, Oak Forest, Matteson, Mokena, Frankfort, and Frankfort Square; as well as Joliet, Lockport, New Lenox, Homer Glen, Crest Hill, and Ingalls Park.

Tinley Park Public Works Department crews are out cleaning up debris. Anyone with downed trees or branches on their property should call Public Works at (708)444-5500 or email tppw@tinleypark.org to be added to the cleanup list. Public

Works crews will respond to your location as soon as time permits. Anyone who sees a downed power line should report it to ComEd at 1-800-334-7661 or call the non-emergency line at 708-532-9111.
