TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park residents are invited to meet the public safety members that protect the community during the Tinley Park Police Department's annual National Night Out.
The celebration will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4 at Freedom Park, 7835 Timber Dr.
The nationwide event held annually on the first Tuesday in August "promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer," according to the National Association of Town Watch, the organization that founded the event in 1984.
Residents can visit with Public Safety personnel and see specialized vehicles from the Tinley Park Police Department, Tinley Park Fire Department, Tinley Park Public Works, Department, Cook and Will County Sheriff's Office, Tinley Park EMA/911, Metra Police, Illinois State Police and more.
Other activities will include a variety show by Dave Fleming with a stilt-walker, juggling and magic, as well as music by DJ Jacklyn McDonald.
