They hadn't heard from him since Sept. 3, even though his mother said he always kept in touch with family.

The Crestwood native was most recently living in Tinley Park. The family reported him missing to police there.

In the wake of his disappearance, community members rallied around the family, spreading the word and asking others to keep an eye out for Babich.

On Wednesday, his former wife, who shares children with him, shared the good news, saying, "Kenny is safe!" She added "Thank you all for sharing, praying, and being there for me and the boys."
