TINLEY PARK, IL — A local favorite artisan market celebrates five years of bringing together record collectors, local artists, makers and music fans.
The Vinyl Market returns to Tinley Park Saturday, Nov. 7, welcoming all for its annual afternoon of vinyl, craft beer and shopping.
The free, indoor event organized by Streetz Artz Alliance runs from noon to 5 p.m. at Soundgrowler Brewing, 8201 183rd St., Suite P.
Guests are encouraged to browse, shop, enjoy a craft beer, soda, tacos or burritos, and spend some time digging through records and discovering local businesses. Weather permitting, Soundgrowler's outdoor beer garden will also be open with additional seating. All artists and vendors will be set up indoors.
Organizers tout that this year's market is shaping up to offer one of the largest vinyl selections yet. Many of the record vendors are taking additional booth space to bring even more records for collectors to explore.
The event draws a huge crowd lined up each year, and the organizers are hoping to make this year's crate-digging experience the best one yet.
But there's more to this market than records, organizers said.
Staying true to the Streetz Artz Alliance's curated approach, the event brings together an eclectic mix of local businesses and creative talent. Visitors will find everything from music-inspired artwork, comics and handmade goods to cookies, gluten-free treats, freshly roasted coffee, gourmet pies, pickles, peppers, honey, spices, handmade soaps, jewelry, woodworking, tarot and more.
Among the participating artists and businesses are Gigawatt Coffee Roasters, Cookie's Gluten Free Kitchen, Hex & Crust, Honey Grove, Dive Bar Soap Company, Mixtape Your Life, Becky Blue Designs, Melanie Klegerman Fersko, Prismatic Pumpkins and many others.
Record vendors include Apex Records Store, Beardo Comics and Music, GMuzik, Johnny G's, Roczilla Records, Stairway to Vinyl, The Record Den and TonyK Records, among others. Collectors can expect a mix of new and vintage albums spanning multiple genres, with selections ranging from rock, pop and blues to jazz, hip-hop, metal and alternative.
The Vinyl Market is free to attend and family-friendly.
