TINLEY PARK, IL — An Orland Park man charged with a felony hate crime in Will County court for allegedly threatening to kill a woman and calling her a terrorist had harassed her for months, according to police records.
Collin McEnery, 33, was charged last week with felony hate crime in connection with a July 7 incident involving a 28-year-old woman employed by his family's business, in addition to misdemeanor harassment through electronic communication toward a 53-year-old man.
Court documents disclosed last week allege that in a voicemail left for the woman, McEnery called her a terrorist in addition to a derogatory racial term referencing people of Middle Eastern origin. McEnery also allegedly threatened to kill her "by throwing a frag grenade at her," the complaint reads.
Prosecutors also allege that McEnery left an obscene comment in the July 7 voicemail, alluding to the woman performing oral sex on him.
Additional police records obtained by Patch via Freedom of Information Act request detail allegations that McEnery had harassed the woman for several months, sometimes daily and in calls just minutes apart.
The voicemails—transcribed in police reports obtained by Patch—include repeated derogatory comments referencing the victim's Middle Eastern and religious background, as well as additional vulgarities and sexual references. He also discloses a hatred for Jewish people, according to the documents.
"I hope they bomb all of you to kingdom come," he's heard saiyng, the police reports allege.
In additional voicemails the woman, McEnery is accused of repeatedly threatening to fire her and saying that he will be assuming control of the business. Police said McEnery had also reportedly harassed other employees of the company.
Police alleged he used TextNow numbers, a free-to-use mobile phone service and Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) application that provides free nationwide talk, text, and basic data in the United States and Canada.
Call and phone records showed that McEnery allegedly used four alternating numbers and, spanning from December 2025 to July 2026, placed more than 1,000 calls between the same set of contacts, including the victim.
In a separate but related incident, a man told police that McEnery had begun harassing him by phone after he had attempted to serve McEnery with a no stalking order.
The man, 53, who told police that he was a private investigator, said that he had received more than a dozen phone calls within an hour from someone he believed to be McEnery. One voicemail left "contained discriminatory and explicit language," according to police reports.
"The caller was upset about being served and told [the man] to kill himself and some other woman he did not name specifically," according to the report.
McEnery has prior interactions with Tinley Park police dating back to 2020, police said, ranging from disorderly conduct, harassment and order of protection violations. In connection with this incident, police sought to charge McEnery with misdemeanor harassment by telephone.
A search of McEnery's name in law enforcement systems surfaced an active Cook County warrant for failure to appear.
When Tinley Park police officers attempted to speak with McEnery at his Orland Park home on Oct. 10, police said he refused to come out and began to "yell nonsensical things" at officers.
McEnery threatened police that if they entered the home, he would stab them, according to reports. Officials said he also "continued to yell about a Muslim terrorist who works for his family and has caused all this trouble for him."
Police encouraged McEnery to turn himself in and left the property, the report notes.
An arrest warrant was issued on Oct. 27. There was no record of McEnery having been taken into custody as of Friday, Nov. 6.
