Andrew HS Hosts Massive Career Day

100+ Career Speakers On Hand

FBI agents, firefighters, graphic artists, nurses, civil engineers, cyber security specialists, dentists, and more were assembled at Andrew High School recently for Career Day. In fact, more than 100 professionals representing just as many industries spent the day discussing their careers, their career paths and the things that inspire them.

Students were able to choose two career presentations, network and ask questions about all aspects of their chosen fields.

For more than two decades, school counselors Jim Malec and John Tadla have organized Andrew’s Career Day, which has grown larger each and every year. “Many of you have been here year after year, and the T-Bolt Nation cannot thank you enough. Career Day is a great opportunity for our students to learn something they cannot find in a textbook or online,” said Malec.

"Career Day is made possible by the dedication of our VJA staff, and support by our administration and district office. A special thank you to the District 230 Foundation, whose grant allows us to continue to bring this special programming to our students. Of course, this day could not be possible without the speakers who give their time, lend their expertise, and support and encourage our students to pursue their passion and become contributing members of our community."
