Apply To Host German Delegates From Tinley Park's Sister City

Tinley Park residents have a chance to host German delegates later this year from Büdingen, our international sister city.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park residents will have a chance to host guests of its sister city, Büdingen, Germany, in October as an official delegation will come to visit. They will be staying from Oct. 2 to 14, and residents who want to be hosts must apply by July 16.

Host families will meet their German guests at the Kallsen Center at the Village Hall according to village officials. Sister Cities Commission members will take care of the guests' rides to and from the airport.

Hosts are expected to provide guests with comfortable, private sleeping arrangements and some transportation. “Host families won’t have to worry about providing every meal or spending every moment with their guests, or planning daily events,” Sister Cities Chairperson Lucas Hawley said.

“The commission will coordinate and set up events and activities for the delegation and their host families (if they choose to join them), along with free times for our guests to spend one-on-one time with their host families," Hawley said.

The commission encourages host families to show their German guests around Tinley Park and the Chicago area and show them what makes it special.
