Armed Robbery Reported At Tinley Park Apartment Complex

Police responded to The Residences at 159 for a report of a man with a gun late Wednesday morning.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Tinley Park police responded to a report of an armed robbery at an apartment complex in the village late Wednesday morning.

Residents at The Residences @ 159 in the 15900 block of Center Way Walk in Tinley Park told police that an armed black man walked in the complex at 11:09 a.m. and attempted a robbery, Tinley Park Police Chief Steve Neubauer said Wednesday afternoon.

The man was dressed in a black coat and was described by witnesses as being between 18 and 26 years old. He was wearing dark jeans and a black puffy jacket with fur trim, according to a police report. He is about 6 feet tall and weighs about 160 pounds.

When told by an employee that she didn't have any money to give him and that he ought to leave immediately because there were numerous workers and cameras there at the time, he fled.

He did not get anything in the robbery and left on foot.

Officers remained in the area as of 1:30 p.m. searching for a suspect.
