Bat With Rabies Found In Tinley Park

The bat was found July 27.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A bat that tested positive for rabies was discovered in Tinley Park last week.

A bat picked up by Will County Animal Control on July 27 in the 7000 block of Blackhawk Drive tested positive for rabies, the Village said Wednesday.

Residents are encouraged to make sure dogs and cats are vaccinated against rabies. Residents should never approach or handle bats and wildlife.
