COUNTRY CLUB HILLS, IL — The body of a missing Country Club Hills woman with dementia was found by authorities on Saturday morning, according to multiple reports citing police.

Yolanda Howell was last seen on Oct. 8 leaving her home at 187th and Cedar Avenue on foot, her granddaughter Javanna Plummer said.

Country Club Hills police said they received a phone tip police Friday night that led officers west of Cicero Avenue, NBC Chicago reported. It's unclear exactly where they found the body, but family members and police identified the person as Howell, according to WGN9.

Community members were asked to join police Saturday in searching for Howell nearly two weeks after she was last seen.

Country Club Hills police previously used a drone, helicopter and K9 police to aid in the search. A police K9 last tracked Howell's scent to a nearby forest preserve, Plummer said, but the scent was lost in the woods.

On Thursday, authorities focused the search near five ponds in a forest preserve located near Vollmer Road, though they were unable to locate Howell, NBC Chicago reported.

"All the dogs have tracked her here. It is unknown if she got into a vehicle or a good Samaritan picked her up," Country Club Hills police chief Michael Wilson said Thursday.

No additional information was immediately available.
