Mother’s Day Great Finds Event Coming to Tinley Park 
 
Just in time for Mother’s Day, a special shopping experience is coming to the heart of downtown Tinley Park. The event will take place on Sunday, May 3 from 12pm to 5pm at Bosco’s Marketplace. Such a great way to spend the afternoon celebrating moms and the people who love them while simultaneously uplifting small businesses. This event will feature a variety of local vendors both indoors and outdoors, giving attendees the chance to browse unique, handcrafted, and meaningful gifts for their mothers. 
A highlight of the event will be the “Mother’s Table,” open from 1pm to 4pm, where moms can enjoy a complimentary beverage and snack as a small token of appreciation for all they do. 
 
Located at 17258 Oak Park Avenue, Bosco’s Marketplace has quickly become a hub for community-centered gatherings. The owners of Bosco’s Marketplace are passionate about bringing fresh, engaging experiences to downtown Tinley Park. They plan to host more ongoing Sunday events to bring the Tinley Park community and multiple small businesses together to create a vibrant space for shopping, connection, and local support. 
 
The event is also pet-friendly. Attendees are asked to keep all pets on a leash and under control at all times to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience. With something for everyone, even your pets, this event invites everyone to come together and celebrate the moms who mean so much to us.

Central Middle School

The Tinley Park Community Concert Band, directed by Barbara Abarro presents their annual free Spring Concert on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at 3:00 pm in the Art Beckmann Performing Arts Center (enter door no. 3) at Central Middle School, 18146 S. Oak Park Avenue, Tinley Park, IL 60477.
Selections include Florentiner March by Julius Fucik, tunes from Percy Grainger’s Lincolnshire Posy, Colas Breugnon Overture by Dimitri Kabalevsky and Malaguena by Ernesto Lecuona.
The Concert Band was established in 1987. Members come from all over Chicagoland. Musicians age 14 and older are invited to join. There are no auditions or residency requirements. Rehearsals are on Mondays from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Tinley Park Community Church, 7939 167th Street, Tinley Park, IL 60477. Although our concerts are free, donations are always appreciated. Choir Director Job Description and Duties:
-Choose music from files and/or purchase (from budget*) music for selected services. 
-Music is chosen based on voicing, church year theme, readings, and/or gospel reading, if possible. Difficulty level is also a consideration. 
-Let church secretary know for placement in the service bulletin. 
-Organize music including filling and emptying folders and filing music. 
-Conduct rehearsals. 
-Direct choir at services and rehearsals. 
-Choir rehearsals have been held on Wednesday nights at 7pm for usually 1 hour (could be adjusted). More time needed near Easter and Christmas. 
-Choir has traditionally sung after the 2nd reading during services. We also sing during offering as well as for prelude. (concurred with pastor - anywhere during service as needed). 
-Singing dates are chosen based on choir member availability and when music is fully prepared. 
-Singing dates that happen every year: 
*Reformation Sunday, the Sunday before Thanksgiving as well as on Thanksgiving 
*Christmas Eve 11:00pm Service 
*Ash Wednesday 
*Maundy Thursday 
*Good Friday 
*Easter at Both Services 
*Confirmation 
-Choir sings during Advent, Lent, and ordinary time. 
-Recruiting new members
Extra info: 
-During Lent, other rehearsal arrangements may need to be made since Wednesday have the Soup and Sandwich and Lenten Services. Choir has switched to Mondays or Thursdays before. (sometimes practices have been held between the 8:00am and 10:30am Service.) 
-If the organist is not available to accompany, the director may need to hire (budget funds) someone who is capable on piano, organ or other instrument. 
-Presently two choir members teach Sunday School, so when we have to sing during offering at the 9:00am service. The director may text them when the sermon starts.
