Tinley Park Community Band America 250th Anniversary free concert
The Tinley Park Community Concert Band, directed by Barbara Abarro, presents a free
America 250th Anniversary Concert on Thursday June 18th, 2026 at 7:00 pm at the Tinley Park Community Church, 7939 167th Street, Tinley Park, IL 60477. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket. In case of inclement weather, the concert will be held indoors. Light refreshments will be available for purchase (cash only).
The concert will celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence 250 years ago that happened on the 4th of July. Americana and patriotic tunes including Stars and Stripes Forever by John Philip Sousa will be featured.
The Concert Band was established in 1987. The Jazz Band is directed by Bob Good. Members come from all over Chicagoland. Musicians age 14 and older are invited to join. There are no auditions or residency requirements. Rehearsals will resume in September on Mondays from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Tinley Park Community Church, 7939 167th Street, Tinley Park, IL 60477. Although our concerts are free, donations are always appreciated.
