Central Softball Teams Win Big in SWIC Tournament

The Central Middle School boys and girls softball teams took home their respective SWIC Tournament Championships earlier this month. The Board of Education recognized the teams at its October Board meeting for their wins.

This is the first tournament championship for the boys team since it was formed. The boys softball team was 3-0 in the tournament and 9-2 in the regular season. The girls softball team was 11-3 in the tournament and 8-3 in the regular season.

At the meeting, boys coach Eric Jacobs and girls coach Jennifer Murdock-Barriball recapped their teams’ seasons for the Board. Both coaches commented on how impressed they were with their teams and how each team's hard work, dedication, and motivation paid off.

Boys softball team: Nicolas Altobelli, Johnny Berry, Aidan Brennan, Charles Chaffee, Tyler Ciolkosz, Daniel Coughlin, Anthony Czerwiec, Alex Day, Brandon Dirks, Nicholas Gagen, Ryan Le, Cody Lutchen, Carter Mosel, Tyler Ortiz, Logan Randle, Cole Van Assen, Michael Vesely, John Wendling, and Luke Zbonski.

Girls Softball team: Melanie Andrysiak, Madison Cox, Brenna Dunlap, Jenna Hughes, Maggie Kinsella, Megan Kirnbauer, Madison Kisel, Emily Korduplewski, Maddie Lapinski, Caidence Meadors, Megan Piotrowski, Lindsey Reilly, Cameron Sinal, and Madison Vrastil.

Community Consolidated School District 146 is comprised of Central Middle School, Fierke Education Center, Fulton School, Kruse Education Center, and Memorial School. Students from Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Oak Forest attend District 146 schools.
