Chicago-Bound Flight Hits Bird, Makes Emergency Landing

The Monday morning flight from Vegas proved unlucky for the bird.

A flight from Las Vegas to Chicago was forced to make an emergency landing Monday, after striking a bird moments after takeoff.

American Airlines Flight 334 hit the bird just 15 minutes after departing McCarran International Airport at 5:15 a.m. The plane circled back to the airport and landed safely. No one onboard was hurt. The passengers were re-booked on other flights, ABC7 reports.

The Boeing 737 was grounded temporarily for maintenance.
