Chicago Woman Sour About Gas Station Clerk's 'Disrespect' For Candy-Craving Kids: Cops

The police banned the Chicago woman from the Tinley Park gas station.

An angry Chicago woman was banned from a Tinley Park gas station after a dispute with a clerk, police said.

A police officer was reportedly sent to the Shell station at 84th Avenue and 159th Street to investigate a disturbance. When he got there, he spoke with a clerk who told him “she was in a verbal altercation with a female customer,” police said.

The clerk told how the woman was “sitting inside her vehicle at pump #1 while her three juvenile children were inside the gas station,” police said. “The three children made a purchase of candy. The children then made a return of some of the items and then purchased more items. The children then became unsure which items of candy they wanted to purchase.”

The clerk said she “asked the children to step away from the register until they had decided which items they wanted to purchase,” according to police. “The children then left the gas station.”

The mother of the children, 31-year-old Tameika Franklin, “then entered the store and began yelling at (the clerk), ‘Don’t you disrespect my kids like that,’” police said.

“Tameika began yelling at other customers who attempted to defend” the clerk, police said. “Tameika stated she was going to return to the business at closing time and cause problems for” her.

The clerk “wanted Tameika to leave and not return,” according to police.

The officer reportedly “spoke with Tameika as she sat inside her Toyota Camry.”

“Tameika said she began to yell at Jennifer because, ‘She is a white bitch and she disrespected my kids,’” police said.

Franklin was reportedly ordered to stay away from the gas station and told she would be arrested if she returned.
