'Cinco de Mile' 5K to Make Debut in Tinley Park

A new race hosted by the Community Services Foundation is scheduled for April 30 in Tinley Park, with proceeds benefiting CTF Illinois.

TINLEY PARK, IL - A new 5K race is coming to Tinley Park.

"Cinco de Mile" - a 5K run or walk event - will be hosted by the Community Services Foundation on Sunday, April 30. Proceeds from the event, which will start at the foundation's corporate office at 6775 Prosperi Drive in Tinley Park, will benefit children and adults with diverse disabilities through CTF Illinois, a member agency of Community Services Foundation that provides services and programming to individuals with disabilities.

Register online here or request a printed form from Community Services Foundation Director of Development Robin Curtner at rcurtner@csfil.org. Race-day registration will also be held at 6:30 a.m. Registration is $30 for adults and $10 for children.

The race will begin at 7 a.m. at the Community Services Foundation at 6775 Prosperi Drive in Tinley Park. The awards ceremony is planned for 9:30 a.m.

Benefits for racers will be snacks, water, breakfast, tote bag and event t-shirt.

Packet pickup

Registrants can pick up their registration packets early at the Packet-Pick Up party on Thursday, April 27 at the foundation corporate office at 6775 Prosperi Drive in Tinley Park. A "packet-pickup party" will include healthy refreshments and drinks from 5-7 p.m.

Family friendly activities

Events for children will include a hula hoop station, kids obstacle course, jump house and face painting. These activities will begin at 8 a.m. A DJ will entertain guests during and after the race.
