Comparing Illinois Job Growth to Neighboring States
An analysis of labor statistics has some distressing findings about job growth in Illinois.

A recent analysis by Governing Magazine compared the average monthly nonfarm job totals during the first four months of this year to the last four of 2014 to see which states’ economies have experienced the strongest and weakest growth in 2015.
While employers in Illinois added a total of 17,500 nonfarm jobs so far this year, 4,800 were lost in January and another 2,200 in March, according to the latest labor statistics.
Fortunately, Illinois wasn’t one of the three states that experienced negative growth. However, when compared to neighboring states, the rate at which jobs are being created is distressing, to say the least.
