Coroner IDs Off-Duty Officer Killed In Tinley Crash

The off-duty police officer killed in a crash in Tinley Park early Saturday morning has been identified as a 34-year-old Chicago man.

TINLEY PARK, IL — An off-duty Chicago police officer killed in a Tinley Park has been identified.

Timothy Siwula, 34, of Chicago, died early Saturday morning following the crash at 179th and LaGrange Road, according to the Will County Coroner's office.

Police said Siwula and the other driver were taken to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, where the officer was pronounced dead at 3:10 a.m.

The other driver was transferred to Loyola University Medical Center for further treatment. Police said early Saturday that his condition was unknown.
