D146 Board Approves Student Services Director

District 146 will have a new Director of Student Services beginning this summer. Kelly Voliva, current principal of Memorial School, will move into the position on July 1.

“We were very fortunate to have an exceptional candidate who is already on our team and familiar with the District’s services,” said Dr. Jeff Stawick, Superintendent. “Kelly has done wonderful things at Memorial and I know she will continue to do so in her position with the District.”

Voliva has been in public education for more than 20 years. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Special Education and her Master’s Degree in School Psychology.

Prior to coming to Memorial school in 2017, Voliva was a special education teacher, school psychologist and instructional coach. She has supervised student services programs at the LaGrange Area Department of Special Education and served as the Director of Student Services for two school Districts.

In these positions, Voliva has managed special education, school psychology, multi-need, English language learner, early childhood, and kindergarten programs.

As principal of Memorial, Voliva helped usher in full-day kindergarten and brought parents into the school using Parent and Student Side-by-Sides, goal-setting meetings, and Parent-School Connection events.

“It is bittersweet taking on this new position,” said Voliva. “I will miss seeing the Memorial students, staff, and families on a daily basis, but I am thrilled at the opportunity to work alongside many more across the District."

The search for a new principal at Memorial School is currently underway.

Community Consolidated School District 146 is comprised of Central Middle School, Fierke Education Center, Fulton School, Kruse Education Center, and Memorial School. Students from Tinley Park, Orland Park, and Oak Forest attend District 146 schools.
