Consolidated High School District 230 recently hosted its biannual senior citizen luncheon at Andrew High School, welcoming 150 residents to a showcase of student talent and a luncheon.
The event gives seniors a glimpse into today’s high school experience. From being greeted by National Honor Society members to the opportunity to see a variety of Fine Art performances by talented Andrew Tbolts, the event opens the doors to D230 high schools.
Board of Education members Dr. Lynn Zeder and Melissa Gracias thanked the seniors for attending, their continued support of District 230 and the opportunity to break bread with them.
The seniors were treated to a scene from the upcoming fall play, The Haunting of Hill House; performers included Jessica Chessier, Karoline Corning and Giada Vaccarello. Choir soloists Myra Thompson, Dylan Young and Delaney Lim each performed a song, and the Incendio Saxophone Trio of Alexander Procajlo, Zachary Solomon and Emma Phillips played four selections. Andrew student Senior Leaders then took to the stage and highlighted a few of Andrew’s academic and co-curricular points of pride.
“The Senior Citizen Luncheon is a time-honored tradition at District 230,” said Superintendent Dr. Bob Nolting. “We intentionally set time aside to welcome and thank our most veteran residents. District 230 is fortunate to have the support of our communities, and showcasing our students and their talents is just one of the ways to continue to build connections with our taxpayers,” he added.
