Dance Images in Tinley Park Dances in with a Donation to Support Kids with Cancer

Members of the Dance Images in Tinley Park are used to dancing, so it came as no surprise when the students danced on behalf of the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation (POTCF). The Dance studio hosted a month-long toy drive this past December. The dance students were asked to bring a new toy or teen gift to their class. After the last dance, members of the studio accumulated a van load of toys.
Dance Images Director Diane King said, “We are happy to continue to support this worthwhile organization, and hope that anyone who can do so as well.”
Treasure Chest Foundation CEO and Founder Colleen Kisel expressed her profound gratitude for the generous support shown by the Dance Images, Director Diane King and the students. “The Treasure Chest Foundation is especially grateful for the toys and gifts and the continuous support of Dance Studio Images,” said an appreciative Ms. Kisel.

The POTCF is a unique organization whose services impact more than 14,800 young cancer patients in 63 cancer treatment centers in 21 states across the nation and in the District of Columbia. Nowhere else in the nation does such a program exist. Colleen Kisel founded the organization in 1996 after her then seven-year-old son Martin had been diagnosed with leukemia in 1993. Ms. Kisel discovered that giving her son a toy after each procedure provided a calming distraction from his pain, noting that when children are diagnosed with cancer their world soon becomes filled with doctors, nurses, chemotherapy drugs, surgeries and seemingly endless painful procedures. Martin celebrated his 28th anniversary of remission from the disease in March of 2021.
