Dianne Masters Cup Charity Golf Outing preparations in full swing

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is gearing up for the 2020 Dianne Masters Cup Charity Golf Outing Aug. 11 at Silver Lake Country Club.

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia is gearing up for the 2020 Dianne Masters Cup Charity Golf Outing on Tuesday, August 11 at Silver Lake Country Club.

With Illinois moving into Phase 4 of its COVID-19 safety guidelines, 18-hole registration is now open for foursomes, and 9-hole golf registration is also available. 18 holes of golf, games and post-golf celebration is $150 per person, or you can enjoy 9 holes, games and post-golf celebration for $100 per person. New this year, all hole contests are included in the golfer cost. Illinois’ guidelines for safe play in Phase 4 include two-rider carts and a modified scramble format with staggered tee times. Tee times will be set a few weeks prior to the event on a first-come, first-served basis based on registration date.

“This major fundraiser is crucial to helping us continue to provide shelter and essential services free for victims of domestic violence and their children,” said Executive Director Pamela Kostecki. “This year’s outing will look a bit different as we adjust to comply with Illinois’ guidelines for safe play, but thanks to our hard-working golf committee we are incredibly excited to have a fun and successful event for all.”

The Crisis Center is offering new support opportunities this year that they hope will be highly successful in helping them raise funds. This year for the first time all Crisis Center supporters can go online to buy tickets for the item raffle, bid on items in their silent auction and opt to donate specific amounts to Fund-a-Need for their clients.

“In the past these donation opportunities were available exclusively to golf outing participants, but with a recent loss of more than $300,000 in revenue due to our Neat Repeats resale shops being closed from mid-March through early June, we need all of your support now more than ever,” Kostecki said.

Opportunities to partner with the Crisis Center through sponsorship are also available for those who would like to promote their business or organization while providing much-needed support for those served at the shelter. Sponsorships are going fast, but many Hole Sponsorships are still available. Opportunities for a customized sponsorship are always available, as well. The Crisis Center is excited to welcome this year’s Title Sponsor, AGA Farms.

The Crisis Center’s annual golf outing pays tribute to the Crisis Center’s co-founder, Dianne Masters, who would have celebrated her 74th birthday last month. Masters established a crisis hotline in the kitchen of her home to help victims of domestic violence. Tragically, in 1982, Dianne lost her life at the hands of her husband. But for those closest to her, it strengthened their resolve to continue the mission. Today, the Crisis Center continues to honor Dianne’s legacy by partnering with the community to provide safety, strength and hope to victims of domestic violence and their children. The Crisis Center has impacted the lives of more than 60,000 people since it was founded 41 years ago.

The Crisis Center for South Suburbia’s mission is to provide emergency shelter and other essential services for individuals and families victimized by domestic violence and to address the societal issues that contribute to domestic violence.
