District 146 Hiring Variety of Substitutes

If you are looking for a flexible work schedule, District 146 may have the perfect job for you!

The District has ongoing openings for substitutes for the 2022-2023 school year. Substitutes may choose from daily openings at Central Middle School, Fulton School, and Memorial School in Tinley Park; Fierke Education Center in Oak Forest; or Kruse Education Center in Orland Park.

Substitute Teachers

Substitute teacher pay rates for the 2022-2023 school year is $150 per seven and a quarter hour each day.

Those interested in substituting at District 146 schools should first register as a substitute teacher with the South Cook Intermediate Service Center at 253 W. Joe Orr Road in Chicago Heights.

Applicants should then visit district146.org/employment to complete the online application. Once the applications are complete, Human Resources will contact applicants to complete the required personnel documents.

Additional Substitutes
The District also has openings for substitute paraprofessionals, food service providers, and custodians. Substitute paraprofessionals are paid $13.79 per hour and work seven hours per day. Food service substitutes work from approximately 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. and make $13 per hour. Substitute custodian shifts could be in the morning, afternoon, or evening. Substitute custodians earn $14 per hour.
