District 146 Offering Community Classes

Free adult English language classes are available to all community members

District 146 is once again offering free adult English language classes to community members. Classes will also include lessons on email, internet searches, and Google Drive.The District is partnering with Governors State University to provide these virtual classes.

Two sessions will be held:

Fall session: October 2-December 22, 2023
Spring session: February 2-May 13, 2024

Four courses will be offered during each session:

Beginner
Mondays & Wednesdays, 9–10:30 a.m.
ESL exercises, mouse/keyboard training, writing emails, opening and attaching files to emails, using google translate.

Intermediate
Tuesdays & Thursdays, 9–10:30 a.m.
ESL exercises, beginner technology skills plus internet search, and Google Drive.

Advanced
Mondays & Wednesdays, 9–10:30 a.m.
ESL exercises, beginner and advanced technology skills, and Google Drive.

Digital Literacy
Fridays, 9–10:30 a.m.
For Intermediate and Advanced Level

Each participant will receive a Chromebook and study materials to be used throughout the classes. Limited seats are available and participants are expected to complete the whole session.

Registration and pretesting for the fall session will be held on September 19 and 20 from 12 to 3 p.m. at the District Administration Center, 6611 W. 171st Street in Tinley Park.
