TINLEY PARK, IL — Dozens of employees who work for Nestle USA in Tinley Park will be laid off soon. Nestle recently issued a layoff notice through the Illinois Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act indicating that its permanent closing will affect 37 employees who work in Tinley Park. The first layoff date is Nov. 1, with layoffs to be completed by Dec. 31, according to the information listed in recent WARN notices.

The Tinley Park employees who will be affected work at an industrial building located on Northstar Court. The building is currently for lease. The current tenant is Dreyer's, which is owned by Nestle.

Last month, Nestle announced they would be closing permanently their plant in west suburban Glendale Heights. The Sun-Times and others report 121 will be laid off there.
