Drug Store Manager Suspects Thief Really Likes Maker's Mark: Cops
The CVS manager believes one man may have stolen more than a dozen bottles of the small-batch bourbon.
The manager of a Tinley Park CVS believes a regular customer is behind a recent rash of small-batch bourbon thefts, police said.
The manager reportedly told police that more than a dozen bottles of Maker’s Mark are missing, although he admitted “his count may be off.”
The manager went on to tell how he reviewed store surveillance video and saw a hooded man hide a bottle of Maker’s Mark in his “large jacket,” then leave the store without paying for it, police said. After this discovery, the manager found video of two similar thefts involving the same man, police said.

The manager “spoke with other store employees who stated the subject is a regular customer that talks to the staff and purchases items but does not purchase liquor,” police said. The manager “believes the subject is responsible for multiple thefts of Maker’s Mark. (He) stated Maker’s Mark is not security tagged due to the design of the bottle.”
An officer reportedly told the manager “that due to the subject not being continually monitored while in the store, there was no probable cause for an arrest at this time.”
