Durbin's Patron Sucker Punches Cop Arresting Vomiting Brother: Prosecutor
Prosecutor said bar patron approached officer from behind and punched him in the back of the head as officer was arresting vomiting brother.

TINLEY PARK, IL -- A bar patron is accused of sucker punching a Tinley Park cop attempting to arrest his vomiting brother. Kevin Clancy, 21, of Monee, appeared before Cook County Judge Peter Felice on a charge of aggravated battery to a police officer.
Tinley Park police responded to a disturbance call Aug. 23 at Durbin's, 17265 Oak Park Ave., Tinley Park. Clancy’s brother had been asked to leave Durbin’s in Tinley Park reportedly for vomiting. Clancy’s brother allegedly took an aggressive stance and threw a rock at the arriving officer. The prosecutor said the defendant’s brother ran away but the officer eventually caught up with him.
The officer subdued the brother with pepper spray and wrestled him to the ground, the prosecutor said. As the officer was arresting the brother, Clancy allegedly approached from behind and punched the officer in the back of the head. The judge asked if alcohol or drugs were involved.

“Well, they were both at a bar,” the prosecutor said.
Judge Felice set bail at $1,000. He also told Clancy to stay out of Durbin’s. Clancy is due back in court Sept. 14 in Bridgeview.
