Ex-Ald. Sandi Jackson Reports for Prison Duty at 'Camp Cupcake'
She'll serve a year for her part in exorbitant and illegal spending of his campaign funds.

Sandi Jackson, the wife of former Congressman Jesse Jackson Jr., on Tuesday turned herself in to Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia, where she’ll serve her one-year sentence related to illegal spending of her husband’s campaign dollars.
Jackson, 52, was convicted for her part in his draining $750,000 from his campaign fund, spending it on items such as fur capes, vacations, mounted elk heads, and celebrity memorabilia. His wife failed to report the money on tax returns.
The former Chicago city councilwoman checks in just one month after her husband was released following his 2 1/2-year stint. A judge allowed the two to arrange their sentences so as not to leave their school-aged children parentless. The same minimum-security prison once housed Martha Stewart, and has been dubbed “Camp Cupcake” by the media.
