First Midwest Bank Debit Cards Become Defunct Tuesday: Old National
Those making the jump from First Midwest to Old National Bank, activate your new card by Tuesday at 10 a.m. Your old one won't work anymore.
TINLEY PARK, IL — Customers making the switch from First Midwest to Old National Bank amidst the merger of the two, are reminded to activate their new debit cards by Tuesday morning to avoid any additional issues.
First Midwest Bank debit cards will be deactivated and defunct by Tuesday, July 19 at 10 a.m., according to a robo call from Old National Bank issued Monday afternoon. Any bill payments on autopay through First Midwest cards should also be shifted in advance of the card cancelation.
The call is the latest instruction in several sent out to those making the jump, which caused many customers a slew of problems early last week upon the merger being finalized. Long delays, account access issues, missing debit cards, and other issues plagued the Indiana-based bank in the final days of the transition.

A notice on the Old National Bank website also advises customers with the guidance, adding that anyone without a debit card should call Client Care at 888-424-2002 or visit your local Banking Center.
