In celebration of its new store opening in Tinley Park, Burlington Stores has donated $5,000 to Fulton School in District 146 to purchase school supplies. Burlington Stores teamed with national non-profit organization AdoptAClassroom.org to make this donation.

“On behalf of the Fulton School staff and District 146, I would like to thank Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org for their generous donation to our school,” said Fulton Principal Megan Mitera. “Our teachers are very excited to purchase tools and supplies for their classrooms using this donation. We are very thankful for the support we received from Burlington and AdoptAClassroom.org.”

A representative from AdoptAClassroom.org contacted school administrators late this summer and helped secure the donation for Fulton. Each kindergarten through fifth grade classroom teacher will receive $250 to shop for supplies.

Teachers will be able to order supplies and materials for their classrooms through AdoptAClassroom.org’s online vendor marketplace. Vendors include Staples, Lakeshore Learning, and Lego Education, offering teachers everything from pencils and crayons to educational books and manipulatives.

Each time Burlington opens a new store, they celebrate by funding a local elementary school in their store community in partnership with AdoptAClassroom.org. The new Burlington store is now open at 16001 South Harlem Avenue in Tinley Park.
