The proposal for Lenny’s Gas N Wash, a service station-car wash that also would include liquor sales and a food drive-through, must now be reviewed Thursday by the county board's executive committee before it goes before the full board for approval, the report stated, adding that the vote will probably come during its March 21 meeting.

Residents in both Frankfort Township and Tinley Park, which would be adjacent to the new station, have been protesting this project since late last year. Opponents claim Lenny's would create a road congestion problem because of the increased truck traffic in the area and bring in a bad element because of the station's liquor sales, the report stated.

Although disappointed with the committee's recommendations, critics of the project told Sun-Times Media they will voice their concerns to the board before the final vote.
