Governors State University to Partner with Health and Human Services

University and HHS will sign Memorandum of Understanding to promote workforce diversity

In support of Governors State University’s (GovState) mission to provide and accessible an exceptional education, the University is partnering with the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and will host a ceremony to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on Wednesday July 31, 2024.

The MoU solidifies the robust partnership between HHS and GSU, a leading Minority-Serving Institution (MSI). Through this agreement, HHS will highlight the strengths of academia and government to enhance and develop a diverse talent pool of federal workers to better serve the American people. The MoU demonstrates HHS’ commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility (DEIA).

At the event, GovState President Dr. Cheryl Green and Cheryl Campbell, Assistant Secretary for Administration at HHS, will provide remarks outlining the shared vision and mutually beneficial partnership between HHS and GovState to increase early career employment opportunities into public service, communications, and campus engagement. Following the conclusion of remarks, Assistant Secretary Campbell and Dr. Green will sign the memorandum of understanding.
