High School Postseason HQ: Andrew Earns Boys Tennis Sectional Title
In girls soccer, Andrew captured its regional title, and Tinley Park beat Oak Forest, to advance to the sectional.

It's postseason time for high school spring sports, and we want to keep you updated on the progress of our local student-athletes. Here's a quick and easy way to track the teams for Andrew, Tinley Park and Lincoln-Way North high schools.

Tennis (Boys)
- Andrew: The team placed first in the Saturday, May 18, sectional at Homewood-Flossmoor. Seniors Kevin Karczynski and Brian Moy placed second and third, respectively, in singles competition. Andrew also had two doubles teams qualify. Sophomores Austin Wabi and Alan Wang placed third, and seniors Mark Sivak and Michael McGrath came in fourth. State final pairings have not been set.
- Tinley Park: The school's team tied for sixth place at the sectional at Homewood-Flossmoor.
- L-W North: The team took second place in the Saturday, May 18, sectional at Lincoln-Way East. Sophomore Sam Knuth placed third in singles competition. State final pairings have not been set.
Tennis (Girls)
- Andrew: The doubles pair of seniors Shari Coughlin and Alex Giesey advanced as far as the Thursday, May 16, second-round consolation match in the state finals at Mt. Prospect.
- Tinley Park: Sophomore Haley Wilcox got as far as the first-round consolation match in the state finals.
Soccer (Girls)
- Andrew: The team captured the regional title, defeating Marist, 1-0, at that school's home field Saturday, May 18. The Thunderbolts now face Lincoln-Way North at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Andrew for the sectional title.
- Tinley Park: The Titans defeated Oak Forest, 1-0, on its home field Friday, May 17, to advance to the sectional. The team now plays Marian at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Lincoln-Way West.
- L-W North: The Phoenix advanced to the sectional, beating Mother McAuley, 1-0, in the Friday, May 17, regional on its home field. North now faces Andrew at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at Andrew for the sectional title.
Track and Field (Girls)
Tinley Park: The team tied for 67th at the state final at East Illinois University.

Softball
- Andrew: The No. 4-seeded Thunderbolts take on Homewood-Flossmoor at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in their first regional game at Romeoville.
- Tinley Park: The No. 1-seeded Titans are still waiting to find out who they will play at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in their first regional game at Oak Forest.
- L-W North: The No. 7-seeded Phoenix faces Lincoln-Way Central at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, in its first regional game at home.
Baseball
- Andrew: The Thunderbolts are waiting to see who they will face in their first regional game at 3 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Richards.
- Tinley Park: The No. 5-seeded Titans take on No. 4-seeded Oak Forest at 4:30 p.m. Monday, May 20, at Oak Forest. (This game is part of the Lemont regional.)
- L-W North: The No. 1-seeded Phoenix is waiting to find out who its first regional challenger will be at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 22, at Lincoln-Way Central.
