Insiders taking care of insiders

It's Trick AND Treat time at Village Hall

Trick or Treat is the traditional greeting from kids in Halloween costumes wanting candy for their buckets.

But in Tinley Park Village Hall – the expression is better described as Trick AND Treat. Trick as in insiders have tricked voters into electing their allies to the Village Board and Treat as in their allies are treating those same insiders to lucrative government contracts.

Bill Brady has worked for Orland Township since 2012. Bill Brady was elected as a Village Trustee in 2017. Bill is being paid by his “boss” Supervisor Paul O’Grady at Orland Township at $32,922 a year/Operations Assistant. Subsequently, Bill Brady is being paid $13,000 as a Village Trustee. Brady is voting on the approval of legal bills at Village Hall and is essentially rubber stamping the more than $5,000,000.00 that has been paid to O’Grady’s law firm since 2016.

To call this a conflict of interest is an understatement. Under what circumstances would Brady ever vote to deny any funding requests for O’Grady’s law firm? This is what “Pay to Play” looks like under Mayor Mike Glotz’s watch.

Thanks to Glotz’s policies, “Pay to Play” has become the “Tinley Park Way,” and it will continue as long as citizens stand pat and let it happen. It is time for Tinley Park residents to get informed and, most importantly – to get involved.
