Over the past few months, I have been conducting a listening tour throughout Tinley Park and in talking to residents, I have heard some concerns about suspicious individuals at the Tinley Park Library.
Upon hearing these concerns, I immediately took action. First, I FOIA’D the calls for police service at our library. Second, I started researching what other libraries have done when confronted with these concerns. Shockingly, I found that there really are no policies in place to protect our children from potential dangerous predators.
As a father of two young children who frequent our local library, I find this unacceptable. This is why I am starting a petition drive something to create awareness about the need to address these serious concerns. It is available online and I also will be taking it door to door.
