Know Before You Go: Tinley Park Irish Parade Set For March 8

Tinley's popular and beloved Irish Parade returns Sunday, March 8 along Oak Park Avenue.

TINLEY PARK, IL — Got your green garb ready to go? The Village's 26th annual Tinley Park Irish Parade takes to Oak Park Avenue Sunday, March 8.

Set to step off at 1 p.m., the parade will feature 80 floats, walking groups, and vehicles. The route travels from 179th Street north to the Subway parking lot at 17219 S. Oak Park Ave.

Andrew High School staff members Jeff Keane and John Tadla will return to announce the parade from the balcony at Primal Cut Steakhouse. Parade entries will be judged in four categories, including Best Amateur Float, Best Performance Group, Best Professional Float, and Best Vehicle or Walking Group.

Don't miss brand-new pipe and drum band performances during the parade at Harmony Square, 6700 North St., and check out the new St. Patrick's Day Light Show, playing daily from 7 to 10 p.m. every hour on the hour starting March 1 at Harmony Square.

With a forecast of 60 degrees and partly cloudy, the parade is anticipated to draw approximately 40,000, similar to last year's.
