Monday, October 14, letter carriers from around the South Suburbs (and across the country) took to the streets to rally for a new contract. Locally, Branch 4016 of the NALC rallied at the Tinley Park Post Office. USPS letter carriers want safer working conditions with protection from local and postal police. They have also been working for over 500 days without a joint contract. This means they haven’t had a raise or cost of living increase for almost two years! Did you know that letter carriers did not receive any hazard pay during COVID? They were out there every day so you could get your medications and packages and everything you needed. We need everyone to let the USPS know what their letter carrier means for them!
