Man Fled Scene On Foot After Hitting Two Cars: Tinley PD

A Chicago man faces charges after he ran a stop sign, hit two cars, and fled the scene on foot, Tinley Park Police said Friday.

TINLEY PARK, IL — A Chicago man faces charges after he ran a stop sign, crashed his car into two others and fled the scene on foot, Tinley Police said Friday.

Celeritas V. Green, 19, of Chicago, was charged with leaving the scene of a property damage crash, resisting a peace officer, no driver’s license, no insurance and disobeying a stop sign after a traffic accident Aug. 16 in the 19400 block of South Harlem Avenue.

Police said Green was driving eastbound on 194th Street shortly after 6 p.m. when he disobeyed a stop sign and struck two other vehicles that were crossing the intersection of 194th Street and Harlem Avenue. Following the crash, Green exited his vehicle and fled on foot.

Shortly afterward, police received a call of a man matching Green’s description running in the 19400 block of Gray Lane. Police responded to the area and were able to apprehend and arrest him after a brief foot chase.

No one was seriously injured in the crash.

Green has court date on Sept. 14 at the Will County Courthouse.
