Mayor Mike Glotz using taxpayer funds for Christmas cards

If you happened to be on Mayor Mike Glotz’s Christmas card list, you probably noticed that the cards were printed on the Village’s dime.

Politicians like to send Christmas cards because it is a way for them to build some good will with their constituents. Most politicians, though, use campaign funds to send out the cards, but not Mayor Mike Glotz. Why spend precious campaign resources when he can just let the taxpayers foot the bill?

Not only did he send the cards out at taxpayer expense, he also did not use a union print shop to print the cards. Mike Glotz has asked for and received hundreds of thousands of dollars from labor unions to support his political agenda. Why isn’t he using a union printer to print his political mailer masquerading as a Christmas card? So much for loyalty…

The people of Tinley Park are tired of the political gamesmanship. They are tired of their hard-earned tax dollars being used for politics. Tax dollars should go to police and fire protection and improving our roads, not Christmas cards for career politicians desperate to keep their jobs.

Mayor Mike Glotz should do the right thing and write a check to the Village to cover the cost of the Christmas cards. Unfortunately, that is one Christmas miracle that is not in the cards.
