Passenger Injured in Interstate 57 Shooting
The shooting early Saturday marked the sixth expressway shooting this month.

DIXMOOR, IL - A man was shot in the leg when an SUV pulled up beside his vehicle on Interstate 57 near Dixmoor and opened fire early Saturday, according to media reports. The shooting occurred at 3:40 a.m. on northbound I-57 between 147th Street and Cal Sag Road.
At least six gunshots were fired from a white SUV at a black SUV. One bullet hit a passenger in the black SUV and the 24-year-old man was taken to the hospital but expected to recover. The driver of the black SUV lost control and hit a guardrail.
The shooting remains under investigation, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. It was unclear if the 22-year-old driver in the car and another passenger was injured.
